ITS BEEN AWHILE.

Daily_Miyuki-1-3 I took a short hiatus from this blog because I became entirely too distracted with my new blog, The Daily Miyuki. While exploring my interests in photography, my best subject has been my little one, the ever cute Miyuki. HOMEMADE GINGER ALE

 I'm not a big soda drinker, too much sugar and calories for not a lot of payoff. But, I love a tall fizzy drink. After realizing the amount of waste we were creating by buying Costco sized Perrier cases, we decided to invest in a water carbonator. After the first bottle of water I made, I realized the endless possibilities this little machine created.

TWENTY-FIVE GOING ON FIVE.

I'm a huge fan of fantasy cakes and cupcakes, and it just so happens that my dad's wife is an amazing cake decorator. For my husband's birthday, I asked her to make Super Mario cupcakes. She went above and beyond expectations with 25 edible, sugar sculptures of our youth... who am I kidding, we still play Super Mario, and all variances, all the time. A LITTLE ELBOW GREASE GOES A LONG WAY

My mom decided it was time to change out the furniture that had been in my bedroom since I was about 12 years old. I do not have a spare bedroom, but couldn't pass up using the first real furniture I had picked out for myself (great taste for a 12 year old if you ask me). After a little brainstorming and a lot of inspiration from one of my favorite blogs, Design Sponge, I decided to have my parents drop this beast of a pine dresser on my doorstep (literally) for a little refurbishing. It is now a beautiful, brightly colored addition to my dining room as a bar and cost less than $100 to turn from ordinary to fabulous.
